Farnese Palace in Caprarola: From Urban Design to the Decoration Work. The palace of Caprarola, with its gardens, is one of the greatest masterpieces of the Italian Renaissance, and among all, the most important work of Vignola. With its size, located at the top of the hill, the circular courtyard and its characteristic snail scale, the villafortress dominates the surrounding landscape and stands as one element of the surroundings, a symbol of power and magnificence of the Farnese family.
