After having identified, in a previous work [6], the possible sites for the location of a new cogeneration plant using wood biomass in the Mountain Community of Carnia, Friuli Venezia Giulia Region (Italy), the technical and economic feasibility and environmental sustainability of such a system has been carried out in order to evaluate the feasibility of the proposed solution.

Descrizione: In the territory of the Carnia, Friuli Venezia Giulia region (Italy), which covers 72,655.4 ha, there is an under-utilization, management deficiency and accumulation of wood in the forests. To support the mountains economy, the use of biomass has to be promoted, with actions aimed at increasing the quality of production, improving the logistics and facilitate the supply of raw materials to fuel cogeneration plants.
