This work aims at applying dialogic syntax to 226 compliments elicited in Oriental Piedmont taken from Co.Cor corpus (Castagneto - Ravetto, 2016). The goal of this study is to check the engagement between interlocutors in producing this peculiar speech act. First of all compliment features are briefly depicted, and also dialogic syntax features have been introduced. Resonances will be analyzed in detail, because they allow us to measuring the engagement degree between interlocutors. Soon after there have been analyzed the correlations between the various kind of resonance and the various type of compliment responses. The data show that reassurance request is the kind of compliment response which more frequently correlates whit a high number of resonance.
