This paper analyzes Marzio Strassoldo’s underlying guidelines on the Friulian language and his ideas on minority languages. We describe the criteria that he predisposed in the seventies for the sampling procedures of the first series of researches on Friulian, in order to assess their scientific importance and the evolution of these criteria over time. Moreover, we compare the reasoning based on this analysis with the theses of the last book published by the professor, dedicated to the multi-dimensional value of linguistic minorities.

Abstract
This paper analyzes Marzio Strassoldo’s underlying guidelines on the Friulian language and his ideas on minority languages. We describe the criteria that he predisposed in the seventies for the sampling procedures of the first series of researches on Friulian, in order to assess their scientific importance and the evolution of these criteria over time. Moreover, we compare the reasoning based on this analysis with the theses of the last book published by the professor, dedicated to the multi-dimensional value of linguistic minorities.File in questo prodotto:
