Agricultural GHGs emissions in CO2 eq (A sector) produce negative externalities and impacts on ecosystems. At World level, they are expected to increase enormously in the period 2014-2050 from 5.25 Giga tonne (Gt) to 6.38 Gt, namely by 21.57%, instead of decreasing. The aim of this research is the assessment of the externalities created by Agriculture (A), Forests (FO), Land Use (LU), and Energy (E) on the world ecosystems in Mediterranean aggregate (MED). In literature, a lot of definitions and approaches exist about the measurement of these impacts, but methodological problems have not been adequately addressed. There is underlying terminological confusion concerning the concepts of Carbon, Climate, and the Carbon part of Ecological Footprint that this paper attempts to clarify.
