In the late spring of 2021 a new historic wreck was dis-covered just off the coast of Venice Lido. The presence of the remains of a new shipwreck, close to the site of the sinking of the brig Hellmuth, had never been docu-mented until now. From 2022 to 2023, two campaigns of investigations and underwater archaeological exca-vations took place, which allowed to investigate a good part of the wreck and its cargo and to date it to the second half of the nineteenth century.
