The win–win objective to ensure an agriculture developed both by an economic and an environmental perspective can be hard to achieve. This study aims to evaluate the presence of synergy or trade-off between economic and environmental dimensions of Italian farming. Using the FADN database and applying a method based on individuation of economic and environmental indicators and on calculation on summary indexes, we found that most of the sectors show a trade-off. However, the more extensive livestock sectors reveal a synergic relationship between the two dimensions.
