The paper intends to discuss some new ways to look at youth languages. The paper will concentrate on how, in recent years, the academic interest moved more and more from the often abstract and theoretical “youth language” to the “youth communicative habit”. After a brief survey of the state of youth language in Italy today and of the research goals pursued by the specialists, the paper will examine some of the new communicative habits emerging among young Italians, considering how some of these habits extend far beyond the age group usually characterized by their use.

Abstract
The paper intends to discuss some new ways to look at youth languages. The paper will concentrate on how, in recent years, the academic interest moved more and more from the often abstract and theoretical “youth language” to the “youth communicative habit”. After a brief survey of the state of youth language in Italy today and of the research goals pursued by the specialists, the paper will examine some of the new communicative habits emerging among young Italians, considering how some of these habits extend far beyond the age group usually characterized by their use.File in questo prodotto:
