This is the first bilingual edition (Spanish original and Italian translation) of "La isla sin aurora" (1944), one of the best and least known novels by José Martinez Ruiz (1873-1967), one of the most important Spanish writers of the XXth century. The translation is preceded by a long and detailed introduction which deals with the genesis of the novel, its main topics within the author's production, and its literary and linguistic value. At the end of the volume the novel is largely commented chapter by chapter on a literary and linguistic basis.
