The paper describes some results obtained through regional frequency analysis of maximum annual rainfall (with duration ranging from 15 min to 24 hours) for the upper Adige river basin. The statistical analysis is carried out by means of the linear moment techniques and the GEV (Generalized Extreme Value) frequency distribution, which exhibits a good fit to the regional variability of rainfall extremes. The analysis allows to estimate the degree of heterogeneity in the group of sites, qualifying the region as homogeneous for some rainfall durations, and possibly heterogeneous for others. Finally, the growth curves have been computed for the various rainfall durations.

Abstract
The paper describes some results obtained through regional frequency analysis of maximum annual rainfall (with duration ranging from 15 min to 24 hours) for the upper Adige river basin. The statistical analysis is carried out by means of the linear moment techniques and the GEV (Generalized Extreme Value) frequency distribution, which exhibits a good fit to the regional variability of rainfall extremes. The analysis allows to estimate the degree of heterogeneity in the group of sites, qualifying the region as homogeneous for some rainfall durations, and possibly heterogeneous for others. Finally, the growth curves have been computed for the various rainfall durations.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
