In 2009 ten years had passed since the term liberature was coined. Since then, this new historical and literary category determining phenomena present in literature since the dawn of time has become firmly established in both critical and scientific discourse. From the perspective of decades, one can attempt its first summary. Referring to the seemingly marginal trends in literary tradition, and at the same time boasting such names as Sterne, Blake, Mallarmé and Joyce, liberature is strongly opposed to the postmodernist opinions about the death of literature in postmodern civilisation and compels the reader to work hard on and with the text, which is the opposite of the exploration of the world by surfin on its surface, which, according to many critics, seems to be the key to contemporary civilisation. Finally the emancipation of ideological and physical values of the book destroys of one of the most ingrained beliefs in Western culture, namely, that a work of fiction is a whole made up of words and is independent of the material in which it is expressed. The Liberats show that the traditional approach to literature is not necessarily unique and indispensable, and that even within Western culture there is sufficient reason to think about it to the contrary.

Abstract
The Liberats show that the traditional approach to literature is not necessarily unique and indispensable, and that even within Western culture there is sufficient reason to think about it to the contrary.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
