La Laguna come opportunità o problema?

The system of Laguna was one of the determining factors for the growth and development of the city of Venice. Military defense, food resource and protected harbor, the Lagoon of Venice has been the subject - the dawn of its civilization - a real process of urban sprawl, able to exploit their natural resources and to establish a stable society. Today, in a world completely changed, where the concept of "city", which has become improper, applies to so-called historical centers that increasingly large conurbations, most of the Laguna peripheral spacees, where unusual events and events resonant living with full-blown environmental degradation and cultural decadence, making it a place of margin, badly witness of its past and definitely unprepared for a new future. Is it possible to think of a revitalization of the lagoon system as a place in which to find a particular integration as a matrix of physical and cultural connection? What opportunities are offered today to the city of Venice to rediscover its territorial dimension - coastal, amphibious and cosmopolitan - and discover the Eighth District in Laguna? Which strategic choices may contribute synergistically to the development and valorisation of an heritage unique in the world?
