LA SERIE MONETALE CAROLINGIA CHRISTIANA RELIGIO NEL TERRITORIO DEL REGNO ITALICO

Through the study of the economic and political situation following the fall of the Western Roman Empire, it was possible to examine the conditions that led to the organization of the Carolingian Empire and its coinage with particular attention to the Regnum Italicum. The study focused on the series coinage with legend "Xpistiana Religio" and investigated its characteristics hypothesizing its meanings and functions. The study was conducted on the coins preserved in Italian museums and also in some important European collections.
