This chapter adopts a domestic politics perspective to explain the collapse of the Growth and Stability Pact in Germany. The argument developed here is that German social partners have resorted to fiscal authorities more than in the past to obtain compensations in exchange for wage moderation. Strong domestic pressures would thus be at the root of fiscal misbehaviour.

Abstract
This chapter adopts a domestic politics perspective to explain the collapse of the Growth and Stability Pact in Germany. The argument developed here is that German social partners have resorted to fiscal authorities more than in the past to obtain compensations in exchange for wage moderation. Strong domestic pressures would thus be at the root of fiscal misbehaviour.File in questo prodotto:
