Biological notes on Anthidium florentinum in north-eastern Italy (Hymenoptera, Megachilidae). In the period 1997-2013 observations on the phenology and pollination activity of Anthidium florentinum (Hymenoptera, Megachilidae) were carried out in several localities of Friuli Venezia Giulia and Veneto regions. The flight season of males and females is overlapped from early June to late August. Therefore, the species is univoltine. Females appeared more numerous than males. The majority of specimens were collected while they were gathering on flowers of Lythrum salicaria; other specimens were observed on flowers of Rubus sp., Scabiosa columbaria, Lavandula × intermedia and Buddleja davidii. It is confirmed that the species is polylectic. A. florentinum plays an important role in pollination of wild plants in natural environments and of herbaceous cultivated plants in agroecosystems.
