Until now the research on Didactics of languages has randomly taken care of the linguistic education to the older students. The research has never made any difference between elders and youngers. We do think, then, time has come to outline a foreign language teaching model specific for older students - based on the idea that education must respect teaching methods principles specially if aimed to elders. Our model - called Cognitive Emotional Scaffolding - emphasizes the importance of personal, social and learning experiences; in this model it’s also highlighted the role of maintenance the cognitive reserve, and the strategies that elders use to get communicative competencies. In this essay we will have our focus on the compensation under either psychological or neurological aspect seen on the basis of the Cognitive Emotional Scaffolding.
