Ancora su rappresentanza politica e sistema economico

After the examination of the preliminary elements, suitable for a possible discernment of an "Economic Constitution" in the Italian context, and after the previous assessment of both the lack of indicative abstract definition formulas and the absence of impact of the popular will - also dependent on the prohibition of an imperative electoral mandate - it was concluded - with the concrete determination of the more general economic structures of the country - that there is dependence on the sole will of the hegemonic parties, as implemented in the constitutional provisions and ordinary legislation. Therefore, we shall now examine, on the historical constitutional and political-philosophical level, the inspiring principles of the Italian Christian Democratic Party (for several decades, the country's parliamentary relative majority formation), with particular attention to its economic conceptions. With regard to the latter, we shall make particular reference to the thought of Jacques Maritain, whose theories have certainly constituted some of the most influential elements, on the doctrines professed by the Christian Democratic leadership.
