This article aims at illustrating some quantitative and descriptive aspects of a collection of spoken texts in Italian SL. The data used to constitute the 40,000 words database were extracted from 10 hours of semi-structured interviews to Burkina Faso adult immigrants settled in Spilimbergo, a small town in the Northern Italian province of Pordenone. Data is mainly analyzed from a lexical point of view and the results are compared to a number of external corpora found in literature, like LIF, LIP, LIPS and ADIL2. The specificity of the data collected in Spilimbergo offers the opportunity to introduce some possible didactic applications to Italian SL courses that seem to invite teachers to a higher awareness and control on this level of interlanguage.
