Abstract

Longevity does not provide happiness to a “country system” that suffers from a strong low birth rate, a low youth and female employment rate, and a surge in pension spending. The RRP occasion certainly brings a new impulse for the implementation of initiatives aimed at addressing the phenomena described above. The aging of the population, the demand and cost of Welfare, the Italian labour market, the globalization and digitalization of economy, put politics in front of medium and long-term strategic decisions that will inexorably affect the sustainability of the current system of social security.
