Udine. I contesti di via Mercatovecchio, Palazzo Dorta e Biblioteca Joppi, scavi 2011-2020

The article aims to offer a comprehensive presentation of the archaeological remains which emerged during the excavations carried out between 2011 and 2020 on the western slope of Castle Hill, in Joppi Library area, and along the ascent to the castle and Mercatovecchio Street. For each site, a description is made of the recognized stratigraphic succession and the identified structural evidence of which an attempt is also made to provide a functional interpretation. Then a presentation is made of a selection of the protohistoric ceramic material found in the different contexts
