The article presents the 1993 winter season of the Riccione disco Cocoricò. The discotheque, from that year under the artistic direction of Loris Riccardi, became a place to encounter examples of contemporary art and research theatre. In the article, thanks to video documents, photographs and an interview with Riccardi, the layout of that season influenced by the 1993 Biennial directed by Achille Bonito Oliva is analysed. A number of cross-references between the staging and the works exhibited in Venice are evident. Mention is then made of the performances by Gerardo Lamattina with his Teddy Bear Company (TBC), which was the bridge between the important world of theatre in Romagna and the Cocoricò. This article anticipates a broader study dedicated to the relationship between contemporary art and theatre with discos in Romagna.
