The contribution relates the writings of Giovanni Testori and the works of Francis Bacon, showing, in their different practices, a common conception of art and life. In particular, the conception of paint as flesh, and form as destined to fall. But in this undoing of flesh-colour there is no negation of material but the realisation of what can be considered its destiny. In these terms it is possibile to speak of an “apostasy of the flesh”, a definition given by Testori himself.

Abstract
The contribution relates the writings of Giovanni Testori and the works of Francis Bacon, showing, in their different practices, a common conception of art and life. In particular, the conception of paint as flesh, and form as destined to fall. But in this undoing of flesh-colour there is no negation of material but the realisation of what can be considered its destiny. In these terms it is possibile to speak of an “apostasy of the flesh”, a definition given by Testori himself.File in questo prodotto:
