Juan Ramón Jiménez, el magisterio rescatado. Trascendencia de su poesía en la primera vanguardia argentina y recepción en la revista Sur [Juan Ramón Jiménez, the Rescued Master. The Significance of his Poetry in the First Argentine Avant-garde and Reception in Sur Magazine]

This paper reviews the influence, until now unnoticed in studies on the Argentine avant-garde, of the poetry of Juan Ramón Jiménez. The circulation of his Segunda Antolojía Poética is studied and how, in the 1920s, this author was read with benefit by some exponents of poetic and pictorial Ultraism-Martinfierrismo such as Norah Lange, Norah Borges and Eduardo González-Lanuza. In a second moment, the issues of Sur magazine published between 1938 and 1964 are analyzed in which we record 46 appearances by or about Juan Ramón. Finally, an interpretation is offered of some aspects of his visit to Argentina in 1948, such as his interest in young authors of the second Argentine surrealism, his relationship with canonical writers of children’s literature and other reflections on the couple’s stay in the Río de La Plata that emerge from the reading of Zenobia's epistolary.
