This article presents the results obtained by the Italian-Lebanese mission with the Northern Lebanon Project (NoLeP), a joint archaeological investigation carried out in the district of Koura. The primary scientific aim of the project was the reconnaissance of the ancient landscape, from its earliest epochs until the modern Ottoman period; here are outlined the preliminary results concerning the settlement of the region during the Bronze Age. The pattern is discussed with specific focus on the distribution of the archaeological sites and the role of these settlements in the plain. Lastly, the occupation of the survey area is considered in comparison with other settlement models from neighbouring areas, such as the plain of Akkar, to the farthest regions in the Southern Levant, in order to identify similarities and distinctive features of Bronze Age settlement in the Koura area.
