The essay ponders on the status of industrial cinema as a portion of film heritage “para-sited” and “multi-sited” across different historiographical traditions and archival institutions. First it deals with the trajectories through which different social actors contributed to the patrimonialization of indus- trial cinema by acknowledging its relevance either for the “industrial history through film or for film history through industry”. Second, it explores a different avenue of investigation towards the “indus- trial history of industrial cinema” by exploring the archival funds of production companies (Elettra Film and Gamma Film) preserved by economic territorial institutions such as the Ansaldo archive in Genoa and the MUSIL in Brescia.

Abstract
The essay ponders on the status of industrial cinema as a portion of film heritage “para-sited” and “multi-sited” across different historiographical traditions and archival institutions. First it deals with the trajectories through which different social actors contributed to the patrimonialization of indus- trial cinema by acknowledging its relevance either for the “industrial history through film or for film history through industry”. Second, it explores a different avenue of investigation towards the “indus- trial history of industrial cinema” by exploring the archival funds of production companies (Elettra Film and Gamma Film) preserved by economic territorial institutions such as the Ansaldo archive in Genoa and the MUSIL in Brescia.| File | Dimensione | Formato | |
