We show the generation and propagation of picosecond solitons in a bidirectionally Raman-pumped fiber laser made of 25 or even 50 km of step-index fiber. As long as the loop length to soliton period ratio is greater than 8 but not a multiple of it, we demonstrate dynamical and stable propagation beyond the soliton spectral resonance limit.
