Continuous Runge-Kutta methods have many applications including the numerical solution of delay differential equations and of integro-differential equations and the implementation of waveform relaxation iterations. This paper briefly describes the theory of continuous Runge-Kutta methods with these applications in mind. Special emphasis is given to accuracy and stability issues developed by the group in Trieste.
