Several mathematicians have dealt with the canonical hypergroups; it is within the framework of their research that the present study offers a further contribution. In particular, in this work, by utilizing the notion of congruence, a theorem of isomorphism has been proved, and a class of hypergroups H has been determined where a congruence R can be identified, so that the hypergroup quotient H/R is canonical.
