The interaction of hydrous cerium oxide with cationic surfactants under basic conditions is used for the first time in the preparation of CeO2 with enhanced textural and redox properties. The reduction of Ce4+ to Ce3+ is strongly augmented, especially in the low-temperature regime, resulting in a broadening of the window of stability of Ce3+. This is accompanied by an increase of thermal stability in the region 900-1150 K.

Abstract
The interaction of hydrous cerium oxide with cationic surfactants under basic conditions is used for the first time in the preparation of CeO2 with enhanced textural and redox properties. The reduction of Ce4+ to Ce3+ is strongly augmented, especially in the low-temperature regime, resulting in a broadening of the window of stability of Ce3+. This is accompanied by an increase of thermal stability in the region 900-1150 K.File in questo prodotto:
