One of the most innovative aspects of the private library of Gian Vincenzo Pinelli in Padua is the careful collection of the highest possible number of contemporary catalogues of other libraries, public and private. The article gives the complete list of these catalogues, all in manuscript form. For each one the history is traced and the possible channels of procurement. The result is a very rich and substantially new picture of major library collections in Europe in the age of Pinelli.
