Sguardi femminili sullo scontro culturale [Female Gazes on the Cultural Clash]

The present considerations arise from the need to warn the reader on the reasons that led us to publish issue 20 of Oltreoceano as a special issue. In it, through multiple approaches to the feminine, we wanted to offer a panorama as complete as possible on the function of memory reactivated in the twentieth and twenty-first centuries, relating to the cultural, artistic French and French-speaking space of the colonial period. Evident is the need to appropriate ancient values that time has shaped through the discourse of globalization so as to reaffirm their individual specificities. A choir of women, writers and artists in a broad sense, makes their voices heard by proposing alternative cultural models. The result is that of making the reflect on the concept of the real, the ideological and the social frontier.
