EnglishTirana municipality’s need was to start to handle the garbage problem which they had never taken care of and which was creating serious problems in the SHARRA landfill. Using a European tender it has been organized a project group working side by side with the Tirana municipality that projected, developed and activated the GIS to optimize garbage collection activities. The steps to be approached were: l best site location of the bins l optimization of the routes of the trucks cleaning the roads and collecting the bins l certification and control of the activities done by the vehicles.
